Do you really want read all this?
Long story short, I can write long format stuff.

My childhood in New Jersey gave me an East Coast entitlement that allows me to enjoy New York. And coming of age in Austin, Texas has granted me my sense of humor and laid-back attitude.

At the University of Texas, I studied advertising. Not gonna lie, it was a blast. Our portfolio program put the undergrads and grad students together, so I learned a thing or two. I also spent enough time in the UT business school to learn that was not the path for me. I’m still always happy to discuss economics or complain about people that over-utilize jargony business verbiage.

I’ve always had friends in various cliques and credit that for my ability to communicate to a wide range of people. The best way to figure out a new person isn’t asking, “what do you do for a living?” Instead, just ask, “what did you do today?” You get real answers that way, rather than a summary of a stranger’s career.

My copywriting style tends to be short and smart. (This rambling notwithstanding) I can write and write and write in all the personalities and all the voices. But really, nobody has time to waste anymore. People with time to waste are answering buzzfeed quizzes, not reading advertising copy. The best messages are both entertaining and informative. In the digital age, the ultimate concept at the heart of a campaign continues to be king. There’s way more outlets that need to be held consistent and the original insight needs to be creatively adapted to communicate in whatever medium is relevant.

I spend my spare time like most hipsters, and I’m not usually ashamed when I fit that stereotype. I go to as many local shows as possible. And if the tides are in my favor, I’m playing my own material live. I find that the more I go out, the more FOMO motivates me to go out. Or maybe I’m just outgoing and the term FOMO doesn’t really mean anything anymore. Riding my bike and yoga are way cooler than health insurance, but I’m coming around to this whole Western Medicine thing. There’s usually some heavy nonfiction tome on my nightstand, but honestly I’m more likely to be flipping through a James Bond novel. Or binge-watching Netflix. My browser window always has too many tabs open.

But hey, what did you do today?
